Before

Friday 3rd May 2024

only time we want you to be negative

Hopefully, Covid in 2024 will be something likened to the mild flu, but we’d really appreciate it if you could ensure you are covid-free before making the journey up. We have friends and family who are vulnerable and more susceptible to illness, and we’d really like to keep everyone healthy.

Making the most of the journey

It’s a destination wedding, technically in an entirely different country!`

We completely understand that there is a lot of travelling to our wedding to commit to, and we thank you for making the journey.

We’ve suggested some things for you to check out either on the way up if you are driving, and don’t forget to take a look at our recommended accommodations, including some Airbnb’s we’ve researched.

Friday evening

If you arrive in Eyemouth as the sun sets, you’ll probably be a little worn out from the travelling. Here are some great dinner suggestions.

  • Oblo (Menu) Italian cuisine

  • The Contented Sole (Menu) British/Seafood cuisine

  • The Heathers Restaurant (Facebook) British cuisine

Sightseeing

We have to admit, we love the history-laden harbour town. If you have time, it’s worth taking a walk around some of these areas.

  • Gunsgreen House

  • Eyemouth Beach

  • Eyemouth Harbour

  • Coldingham Beach

  • Eyemouth Arcades (facebook)

book your taxi

If you know you’re likely to not succeed in walking back to your hotel, or you’re staying further afield, please book your taxi way in advance as there are no ubers in the area and no taxi office will answer your calls late at night if not pre-booked.
